duration and can be life-threatening to the fetus and the mother. As the word says at some point the placenta &#8220;detaches&#8221; from the uterus, so that the exchanges and oxygen between the mother and the fetus do not take place as they should.<br \/>\nDepending on the extent of the detachment, the cause and the <a href=\"https:\/\/gynequipe.gr\/en\/woman\/pregnancy\/prenatal-testing\/\">stage of pregnancy<\/a>, treatment is conservative ( early pregnancy: rest) or invasive (emergency caesarean).<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Placental abruption 1<sup>st<\/sup> trimester<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In the 1st trimester (up to 12-13 weeks), a <span class=\"TrackChangeTextInsertion TrackedChange SCXW88810116 BCX0\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW88810116 BCX0\" lang=\"EL-GR\" xml:lang=\"EL-GR\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW88810116 BCX0\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">detachment<\/span><\/span><\/span> is relatively common and does not necessarily mean that the outcome will not be good. The diagnosis is made sonographically by the <a href=\"\">gynecologist<\/a>, recognizing the detachment zone on the placenta (trophoblast).<\/p>\n<p>In these cases it is recommended to rest the patient for a few days, abstaining from activities and work, until the blood stops. Usually the gynecologist will recommend taking medication (progesterone, magnesium) in an effort to boost the natural <a href=\"\">progesterone of pregnancy<\/a> and calm potential uterine contractions.<br \/>\nOnce the blood has stopped for 48 hours, the woman can gradually regain her activity and continue her pregnancy normally.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Placental abruption 2<sup>nd<\/sup>-3<sup>rd<\/sup> trimester<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The causes are many of which the most common are high blood pressure, <a href=\"https:\/\/gynequipe.gr\/en\/woman\/pregnancy\/pregnancy-and-preeclampsia\/\">preeclampsia<\/a>, violent injury.<br \/>\nSymptoms are severe pain in the abdomen and vaginal bleeding (not always).
